The Mandan Progress Organization is launching two new programs in 2008.

Welcome to Mandan for New Residents


 

The purpose is to help new members of the community feel at home in Mandan and to assist them in accessing all the wonderful features, activities, products and services available here.

 

Teams of MPO members will deliver welcome bags packed with useful information and items of value donated by businesses. The welcome bags will include a complimentary six-month subscription to the Mandan News courtesy of Lee Enterprises — plus information about Mandan schools, parks, churches, civic groups and more. Mandan businesses that are members of the MOP are encouraged to actively participate in two ways.

 

  1. As a donor of gift items that will be appreciated by recipients. Businesses are urged to introduce themselves to new residents by donating a product sample or service certificate to be included in the welcome bags. An item with a value of at least $3 is encouraged. Items that are of an advertising nature only, without value to the recipient, will not be included.
  2. As a volunteer to welcome the new residents to our community. Each member business of the MPO is asked to provide a volunteer during at least one month of the year to assist with home deliveries.

Thank you for helping Mandan grow!

The MPO is seeking volunteers from member businesses to assist in meeting, greeting, applauding and recognizing people who are opening and expanding businesses in Mandan. A team of MPO members personally delivers a plant sponsored in part by Hirsch Floral with a note that says “Thank you for helping Mandan grow!” Deliveries are generally scheduled the morning of the first and third Friday of each month.

Mandan Bucks 


Mandan Bucks are gift certificates redeemable for products and services at most Mandan businesses. Mandan Bucks may be purchased at any financial institution in Mandan:

  • Dakota Community Bank
  • Gate City Bank
  • Security First Bank
  • Starion Financial
  • Wells Fargo
  • Capital Credit Union
  • Railway Credit Union

Mandan Bucks may also be purchased at the Morton Mandan Public Library, the Mandan Progress Organization office at City Hall at 205 Second Avenue NW, or at the Auditor's Office.
