August 19-20, 2011 

Now in its second year, the 2011 "Wild West Grill Fest" will give people one last chance to take over downtown Mandan at summer's end.

The "Grill Fest" is set for Friday and Saturday, August 19 and 20, at Dykshoorn Park.  Grillers will be open from 11am until closing each day.  The grilling competition begins at 11am on Saturday with judging at 6pm.  There will be a chance for the public to vote on a People's Choice Award.  Winners will be announced Saturday night during the dance.  The winning griller receives a trophy.

The event features live music, inflatable games for children, plus covered wagon, pony and helicopter rides along with art and craft vendors and a Pride of Dakota tent.  Entertainers take the stage and the beer garden opens at 1pm on Friday and noon on Saturday.

The "Ravens" will perform Friday night from 7:30 to 11:30 pm.  The band has been together since 1965 when five boys came together and started playing top 40 hits at high school events.  For more info on the Ravens click here.

Admission is $3.00 daily.  Children 12 and under are welcome free of charge and all military, firefighters and police officers will be admitted free upon showing identification.
